'He had North Carolina written all over his heart'

Wilmington native Hugh Morton was hailed Thursday as a civic leader, environmentalist, nationally known photographer and a canny promoter who did well by doing good. "The games couldn't start until Hugh got there," former University of North Carolina President William C. Friday told a packed congregation at Greensboro's First Presbyterian Church, referring to Morton's unofficial status as chronicler of Atlantic Coast Conference basketball and football...North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley was among the mourners, along with former governors Jim Martin and Jim Holshouser, current UNC President Erskine Bowles, Coach Dean Smith, sports announcer Woody Durham and former basketball stars Phil Ford and Tommy Burleson. • Excellent and comprehensive addition to the Heels' NetWorld Offerings. Really appreciated by one such as me who lives beyond the "info line" here in the Charleston area, we get drips and dribbles but you give us the big, complete overview. Greatly appreciated. A must-be Bookmarked! Thank you.
