Lack of clutch hitting dooms Eagles
Some of it was playing the nation's No. 4 team. Most of it was a frustrating offensive drought -- again. But until the Eagles can turn on the offense the way they did in their two wins, they're liable to wind up on the short end of games like Thursday's, where they stranded eight runners against UNC and squandered five straight innings in which the leadoff batter reached.
