UNC stays hot

The lowdown all week on North Carolina's matchup with Washington State was how the run-and-gun Tar Heels would handle the Cougars' nationally renowned defense. As it turned out, it was the Cougars' offense that had trouble with the Tar Heels' defense. Washington State was no match, as Carolina rolled into the Elite Eight with a 68-47 victory on Thursday night at Tar Heel-friendly Bobcats Arena in the East Regional semifinals.
