Taking the long view, one of the most important things about the freshman that just completed their first year is that they blasted away the idea that next year's freshmen would just walk in and start from day one. They'll still arrive with plenty of prep accolades, some McDonald's All-American credentials, and gaudy high school statistics. Those impressive resumes will earn them exactly nothing beginning in mid-October. (Tar Heel Blue)
