Boston College deflects Tar Heels’ late charge


A basketball program famous for its dramatic comebacks appeared on the verge of staging another epic rally on Saturday. But then Boston College forward Craig Smith did what he does best and what he did a lot of in Saturday’s ACC Tournament semifinal game against North Carolina. He scored inside, thwarting the Tar Heels’ charge and allowing the Eagles to hang on for an 85-82 win at the Greensboro Coliseum. (Asheville Citizen-Times)
