Daniel Bard struck out a career-high 13 batters in a complete game five-hitter to give North Carolina a 5-2 win over Purdue on Saturday. Outfielders Jay Cox and Seth Williams each homered to help Tar Heels (9-1) even the series with the Boilermakers (2-2) at one win each. (Charlotte Observer)
