UNC prof's memoir a love-a-heel
Posted Mar 4, 2006
Fred Hobson was clearly happy when his team won it all. And is clearly hopeful Carolina will beat arch-rival Duke tonight over in Durham. Hobson, an English professor at UNC, shares tales about his obsession with UNC hoops in his new memoir, "Off The Rim: Basketball and Other Religions in a Carolina Childhood". Although Hobson gives his take on many of the key games in UNC history, his book is about more than basketball. It's about family, religion, race relations and politics. It's also about what it's like to grow up in the South.
