Dean Smith: A reluctant namesake

Nearly everyone involved with the project wanted to name the building after UNC men's basketball coach Dean Smith. Never a self promoter and always promoting the team concept, Smith didn't want the honor. "It's something I tried to say no to back when they were talking about it," Smith said. "I just wanted to give recognition to the former players somehow." (Durham Herald-Sun)
