One thing that makes the College World Series so cool is that the players really don't have to win the thing to have a blast. Elimination isn't painless, of course. Rarely does a tournament-ending loss occur without at least a teardrop or two slowly creeping down the cheeks of the ousted players, or even their coaches. But such emotions are as much a result of the end of the experience as the failure to take home college baseball's national championship trophy.
