College hoops 2005: May follows in father's footsteps
On his 21st birthday, the junior center scored 26 points on 10-of-11 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds as North Carolina defeated Illinois, 75-70, in the NCAA championship game in early April. On top of being named the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player, May matched the achievement of his father, Scott May, who scored 26 points and captured MOP honors nearly 30 years earlier to lead Indiana to the national title and the last undefeated season in college basketball.
