UNC dealing with inconsistency from freshmen

North Carolina’s season-opening 83-80 win over Gardner-Webb was hardly a masterpiece. With three freshmen in the starting lineup, the Tar Heels were sloppy offensively, looked lost at times on defense. Afterward, Williams was candid with reporters about the learning curve he expects his young team to face. “Look folks, they’re freshmen,” he said. “I bet y’all’s first article sucked too.”
