'Big Four' schools can't match preseason goals in '05

The state's ACC schools entered the season with dreams of reaching the inaugural league championship game, returning to a bowl or just getting a few wins. But the "Big Four" ended up with one thing in common: big disappointment. The schools combined to go 16-28 overall in the regular season and 10-22 in the league, marking the eighth straight season they combined to have a losing record and the 11th straight with a losing ACC mark. The schools haven't won a conference title in 16 years. (Lexington Dispatch)
