A cash slam dunk for NCSU, UNC

UNC's 2005-06 budget projects that the basketball program will collect $15.2 million in revenue this year while incurring expenses of just $3 million. NCSU expects to generate $8.9 million in revenue compared to just $2.2 million in expenses. Neither of those budgets includes the schools' scholarship revenue and expenses. According to its budget, UNC will pay Coach Roy Williams $271,830 this year. He also will receive a benefits package valued at $28,443.
