Tar Heels left out in the cold

North Carolina's seniors had hoped to end their college football careers next month with a winning performance in some tropical location. On Saturday night, they did just the opposite. With the temperature 36 degrees at kickoff, Virginia Tech clinched the ACC's Coastal Division title with a 30-3 victory over the Tar Heels at Lane Stadium. The Hokies dominated the third quarter, turning a 6-3 halftime lead into a 24-point cushion entering the final period. (Durham Herald-Sun)
