Bowl bids could be in Terps hands
Posted Nov 10, 2005
With North Carolina and N.C. State both needing to go at least 2-1 down the stretch to become bowl eligible, Maryland is public enemy No. 1 in the Research Triangle. North Carolina (4-4, 3-2 ACC) will be a heavy favorite Nov. 19 against Duke and a heavy underdog Nov. 26 at Virginia Tech. The Tar Heels' meeting with Maryland on Saturday appears to be an almost certain one-game, bowl eligibility playoff for North Carolina.
