Heels 'kicked in the gut' in third quarter

The environment was perfect. There were long lines of people at gas pumps, roof shingles scattered around the parking lot and tens of thousands of empty seats at the Orange Bowl. If ever a team could sneak in and steal a football game at Miami, this was the day. But this was not the day. North Carolina had No. 6 Miami in trouble for a half, but the Hurricanes outscored the Tar Heels 20-0 in the third quarter en route to a 34-16 victory Saturday afternoon.
