UNC receiver keeps fighting off adversity
Posted Oct 19, 2005
Little has prevented UNC receiver Jawarski Pollock from what will likely be a record-setting college career. Not a poor SAT score that had him labeled with the dreaded partial qualifier tag out of high school. Not an undersized frame (5-foot-8, 170-pounds). Off the field, Pollock earned his degree last spring to keep a promise he made to his mother that he would graduate. On the field, he enters Saturday afternoon’s game against Virginia just six catches shy of breaking Na Brown’s school record of 165 career receptions.
