11-year soccer streak shattered
Posted Oct 10, 2005
When the North Carolina women’s soccer team plays at home, a win is assumed. After all, when a team has an 11-year regular season home winning streak, what else would you expect? Yet that record was broken Sunday, as No. 1 UNC fell to No. 11 Duke, 2-1, on Fetzer Field. It was the Tar Heels’ first regular season home loss since Duke beat them, 3-2, in 1994, the only other time the Blue Devils have ever beaten North Carolina.
