`Cooter' no slowpoke out of Heels' backfield


Desperately needed backfield help apparently has arrived for North Carolina with the emergence of freshman tailback James "Cooter" Arnold. Teammates have been impressed with Arnold's speed and rapid improvement. He appears to be securing the backup role behind sophomore Barrington Edwards. Baker said Arnold is learning quickly, though he still makes mental mistakes common for freshmen. (Charlotte Observer)
