Former Heel Chris Hawkins finds home with Herd

When Hawkins sought out a new football home last summer, Marshall topped his list. He sat out last season at Marshall and appears primed for a productive Thundering Herd debut with eligibility as a junior. He'll start at cornerback and is a leading candidate to return kickoffs and punts. During Saturday's abbreviated scrimmage, the 5-foot-10, 184-pound Hawkins returned a free kick 86 yards for a touchdown. (Huntington Herald-Dispatch)
