UNC seeks in-state football talent early, often


An early, 22-4 deficit to North Carolina would usually have N.C. State football coach Chuck Amato stomping his crimson-clad feet in frustration. Not so, however, when it comes to recruiting. Although the Tar Heels had 18 more known oral commitments for their 2006 class than their neighbor as of Tuesday, the dichotomy reveals more about a difference in recruiting strategy than it does about the recruiting prowess of the two programs.
