Football recruiting numbers in UNC's favor so far
Posted Jul 28, 2005
No decision is final until the February fax-machine beep, but North Carolina has gotten a head start on its next football recruiting class with a flood of verbal promises. The Tar Heels lead the ACC and rank in the top five nationally with 16 commitments. But Texas, under former UNC coach Mack Brown, already has 22 commitments from rising high school seniors. Though the numbers alone don't make the Tar Heels national leaders in talent haul, the depth of the class is worth noting.
