Mark Paschal charged, UNC future unclear

Former Charlotte Latin standout Mark Paschal, sent home from summer school following his July 9 arrest, hopes to return to North Carolina's football team, his mother said Monday evening. Paschal, 18, was charged with three misdemeanors -- simple assault, being drunk and disruptive in public, and resisting arrest. "Mark made a big mistake (by embarrassing himself and the university), and he hopes to make up for it," said Jeanne Paschal, the player's mother and a former volleyball and softball player for the Tar Heels.
