Skipping the banquet stops official induction

In its 42-year history, there have been three men voted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame who aren't yet officially in the Hall. The first to spurn the Hall because of scheduling conflicts was NBA great Michael Jordan in 1994. (Raleigh News & Observer)
