UNC swimmer hospitalized after suffering distress during workout

A swimmer for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was listed in critical condition Tuesday evening following an afternoon workout. Director of Athletic Communications Steve Kirshner said Allison Barnes experienced "some level of distress” while swimming. The coaches noticed something was wrong with her and called 911.
