No. 5 Tar Heel Field Hockey Beats No. 9 Duke, 2-1
The UNC field hockey team scored twice in the second half Saturday afternoon to erase a one-goal halftime deficit and beat ninth-ranked Duke 2-1 at Williams Field. The fifth-ranked Tar Heels improved to 7-2 on the season and opened ACC play with a win. Duke fell to 6-3 overall, 0-2 in ACC play. The game kicked off competition for the 2008-09 Carlyle Cup, with Carolina taking a 1-0 lead based on the field hockey victory. (
