The Tar Heels (10-1-1) were too quick and too overpowering offensively for the eighth-ranked Blue Devils (9-2-1), who fell behind 1-0 early in the first half and could not match their opponents shot for shot, even as they tightened defensively and produced seven shots on goal in the second half.
