Levi Michael leaves early for college diamond

The trend of high school athletes graduating early in order to begin college in mid-year is spilling over from football into baseball. Levi Michael will graduate from North Davidson (Lexington, N.C.) High School in January and enroll for the spring semester at the University of North Carolina. He will join a Tar Heel baseball program that has reached the College World Series each of the last three years. Michael is a rarity. (USA Today)
