Irish force Heels to turn on a dime
Charlie Weis had his [Notre Dame] team in five-receiver sets early in the game because he hadn't seen North Carolina play a dime defense (six defensive backs) this season. There was a reason for that. The Tar Heels, who like to keep their athletic linebackers on the field even in passing situations, didn't have a dime package -- at least until Davis and his assistants scrambled to make the necessary adjustments during the game.
