UNC Football Recruit Xavier Nixon among Player of Year nominees

Jack Britt High School’s Xavier Nixon is one of 16 players announced Thursday as nominees for the 2009 U.S. Army Player of the Year Award. The award is presented to the nation’s most outstanding senior who participates in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl scheduled for Jan. 3 in San Antonio, Texas. Nixon, an offensive tackle, had previously been chosen to play in the game which pits the nation’s top senior players in an East versus West format.
