Heels add two football commitments


North Carolina lost a football game last Saturday but gained commitments to its 2009 recruiting class from two SuperPrep high-school All-Americas. Joining UNC's class were Terry Shankle, a 5-11, 170-pound defensive back from Norwood, and Johnnie Farms, a 6-3, 306-pound offensive lineman from Perry, Ga. UNC's class has 20 commitments. The players can sign binding national letters of ntent in February when the NCAA's football signing period will begin. (Winston-Salem Journal)
