Late Rally Rims Out

No. 1 North Carolina entered its ACC opener as the prohibitive favorite to win the conference, while Boston College was picked to finish 11th in the preseason media poll. But the Eagles proved that preseason rankings are just that, upsetting the Tar Heels, 85-78, Sunday at the Smith Center. Boston College (13-2) used a dominant first-half performance to take a 46-40 lead into halftime, before building a 15-point lead with 6:23 remaining. (Inside Carolina)
