Two Football Players Opt to Graduate

Tar Heel football players Richie Rich and Kenton Thornton will graduate this spring, instead of using their fifth year of eligibility in 2009. A UNC official confirmed the report on Monday. Richie Rich arrived at UNC as a running back and was moved to cornerback in 2007. He recorded nine tackles as a defensive back and on special teams in 2008. Kenton Thornton, a wide receiver, concludes his UNC career with nine receptions, including one during the 2008 season. (Inside Carolina)
