Tar Heels land a defensive back

North Carolina made up for a recruiting miss last year by picking up a commitment yesterday from Gene Robinson, a defensive back from Memphis, Tenn. Robinson is a 5-10, 165-pound senior at Whitehaven High School, where he plays for Coach Rodney Saulsberry. UNC recruited another Whitehaven player last year, linebacker Tenarius Wright. Wright ended up signing with Arkansas, but UNC found Robinson in the process. (Winston-Salem Journal)
