All those years ago, in the backyard of the family's simple Gibsonville home, Kay Yow never envisioned herself as a trailblazer. No matter how often she shot at the tall goal on the telephone pole, Yow assumed that her high-scoring basketball career would end before high-school graduation. That was the way of the times.
