Tommy Thigpen To Leave UNC

North Carolina assistant coach Tommy Thigpen has decided to accept a coaching position at Auburn. Thigpen has coached the linebackers at UNC for the last four seasons. He previously coached at Illinois, Bowling Green, Tennessee State and with the New York Giants. "It was a tough decision to leave my alma mater, but this is a great step for me professionally." Thigpen was a standout linebacker at UNC from 1989-92.
