Wear twins, Mater Dei overpower Upland

Any doubts that Upland might have had about the legitimacy of the Santa Ana Mater Dei boys basketball team, ranked No. 1 in the nation according to USA Today, disappeared pretty early in Friday's CIF-SS Division I-AA second-round playoff matchup.

The Monarchs, boasting five Division I recruits, had their way with a smaller, younger Upland team, busting out to a 22-point halftime lead en route to an 85-52 victory. David Wear had 23 points, while Travis Wear contributed 15 points and 14 rebounds. (Inland Valley Daily Bulletin)
