13 is a lucky number for UNC singer Anoop Desai

There's one thing certain about American Idol finalist Anoop Desai: The R&B singer on the Fox television reality show really loves North Carolina. "It's who I am," Desai, 22, said in a phone interview from Los Angeles yesterday, a day after his surprise leap into the finals as the show's unprecedented 13th finalist. "Everyone knows that I love North Carolina and Chapel Hill." (Winston-Salem Journal)
