Billy Alvino was 3-for-5 with five RBI, and Alphie Wheeler went 4-for-5 with three runs scored to lead High Point past No. 4 North Carolina, 11-9, Tuesday at Boshamer Stadium. The Panthers (14-17) tallied 16 hits and scored three runs in the first, seventh and eighth innings en route to the win. Reliever Jeremy Berg (3-1) held the Tar Heels scoreless on just one hit over the final 2 2/3 innings.
