Chris Webber didn’t have to call a timeout Michigan didn’t have for the 1993 North Carolina Tar Heels to earn their place in history. Webber’s gaffe didn’t cost the Wolverines the national championship that season, but only exacerbated their problem of already trailing UNC and being as well defended in a late-game situation as possible. Thus, the panicked timeout.
