ACC Gridiron Legend No. 23: 1996 North Carolina
Posted Jun 9, 2009
Mack Brown’s North Carolina teams were clearly closing the gap on Florida State by the mid-1990s. In 1996, the Tar Heels’ defense may have equaled the Seminoles. It essentially shut down the high-octane FSU offense, but UNC found a way to lose again - this time 13-0 in Tallahassee even though Bobby Bowden’s boys managed fewer than 200 yards of offense.
