Being alums can give coaches an edge
North Carolina baseball coach Mike Fox thinks there's only one reason he got an interview for the job he now holds. A UNC alum who played for the Tar Heels from 1976 to 1978, Fox believes that connection to his school earned him his shot. And since taking the job in 1998, it has given him a recruiting advantage, Fox said. "My passion for Carolina is clear and evident to recruits, and I do think there's value in that fact," Fox said. (
