Indians' No. 1 pick Alex White ready to start career

Getting a contract signed was a close call, but Alex White, the Cleveland Indians' No. 1 draft pick, is ready to start his road to the big leagues. The Indians signed White for $2.25 million Monday night, minutes before the midnight deadline. "I'm ready to get my career started," said White, a right-hander who pitched at the University of North Carolina. "It's going to be a fun journey." (USA Today)
