Posted Sep 10, 2009
One of the top tight end prospects in the Midwest, Alex Smith, made his first official visit this past weekend. Smith was in Madison visiting Wisconsin. Smith's list of scholarship offers includes Wisconsin, Cincinnati, North Carolina, LSU, Michigan, Miami (FL), North Carolina State, Illinois, Indiana and Purdue. Cox feels Smith will ultimately decide from the trio of Cincinnati, Wisconsin and North Carolina. "He expressed a strong interest in North Carolina, and Cincinnati still," coach Larry Cox said.
