Observations from the UNC-Virginia Tech game
North Carolina punter Grant Shallock had the best tackle of the night, albeit one of dubious legality, when he clotheslined punt returner Jayron Hosley along the sideline. Shallock, who at 6-foot-7 is 9 inches taller than Hosley, caught Hosley around the helmet and sent the Hokie tumbling to deny what looked like a sure touchdown. (Raleigh News & Observer)
