Tar Heels thwart Elon's upset bid in men's soccer

Elon University put the ball in front of the net as time wound down and that created an anxious moment for third-ranked North Carolina in Tuesday night’s men’s soccer game at Rhodes Stadium. But goalkeeper Scott Goodwin of the Tar Heels snatched the ball away before 6-foot Chris Thomas could attempt a header and North Carolina prevailed 2-1. (Burlington Times News)
