Harrison Barnes’ decision to sign with North Carolina was no doubt a surprise for many fans and some scouts, who heard the plethora of rampant (often false) rumors and believed that because Duke had gotten involved sooner (certainly than UNC) and received four separate campus visits compared with just two for the Tar Heels, the Blue Devils held perhaps a commanding lead on the inside track.
