No. 4 North Carolina took a 39-37 lead into halftime, but No. 24 Syracuse exploded out of the locker room with a 25-3 run to eventually claim the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer championship with an 87-71 victory on Friday night. Both programs ratcheted up the intensity as soon as the ball was tipped, delivering excitement for a boisterous crowd that may as well have been a home setting for the Orange.
