N.C. State can’t save year, but a win would make the winter bearable


It was only a year ago that Tom O’Brien proclaimed State as the best program in North Carolina after handing the Tar Heels a 41-10 humiliation at Kenan Stadium that completed a four-game sweep of its in-state rivals. They’re words that still ring in the ears of coach and his players. Not only can the Tar Heels finally silence them, but they can also add a little fuel to the fire by staking claim to a “state championship” of their own. (Wilmington Star News)
