UNC the biggest loser in flawed bowl system

How do you explain the back-room deals and political gerrymandering that will likely reward Florida State for its 6-6 season with a spot in the Gator Bowl – with its New Year’s Day exposure and its $4.5 million payout – while 8-3 North Carolina is farmed out to the postseason wasteland of the Meineke Car Care Bowl for the second straight year? If the Tar Heels had any sense, they’d decline the invitation. (Wilmington Star News)
